ABOUT US
we've been at this for quite a while
The Student Agency Youth Empowerment Collaborative (SAYEC) is a partnership of youth and adults focused on elevating student agency within schools across the nation. Our work spans a decade of creating opportunities for youth voice as an instrument for youth empowerment to co-create meaningful institutional change. Leveraging the one resource that is present in every school, students, we believe that each district has the resources necessary to radically and positively change the experience for students and staff in public schools.

Utilizing a combination of student capacity building, student driven survey work, adult capacity building, and community partnerships with universities and organizations, we have created opportunities for students to influence the decisions of teachers, administrators, school board members and each superintendent in the state of Michigan.
